The Face Halo: Not too good to be true

Every now and again a new beauty product comes around and it just seems too good to be true.  A lot of the time, it is.  However, when I heard about a product that could apparently remove my makeup without using any makeup remover I decided I had to try it out for myself.  Finally, here’s a product that lives up to the hype.

For a bit of background, I’ve always struggled with sensitive skin having both eczema and psoriasis.  I’ve finally found makeup that both works and doesn’t cause irritation but makeup remover was proving a little trickier.  I’ve been using a natural skincare brand for a while now and although it’s great at removing base products I’ve found it does struggle to fully clear my eyes of mascara and eyeliner.

Unfortunately, the stuff that does manage to do that often leaves the skin directly under my eyes red and sore.  For me, a product that could remove even the toughest of eye makeup using just water was something I simply had to try.

The Face Halo is unbelievably easy to use.  You simply soak it in warm or cold water, ring it out, and clean your face with it.  For tougher eye makeup, you hold it over your eye for 5-10 seconds before wiping it off.  And that’s it.  Despite being caked in foundation, concealer, bronzer, blusher, eyeliner, and mascara the Face Halo left my skin feeling clear and really clean like it had truly got into my pores and rooted out all the nasty build up from the day.

According to their website, this is because “the water loosens your makeup allowing the HaloTech fibre strands (which are 100 times finer than a human hair) to reach deep into your pores to remove and trap makeup, giving your skin a healthy and invigorating clean in half the time”.  When I woke up the following morning I had absolutely no panda eyes like I often do, so these claims are easy to believe.

I will say that I don’t really wear heavy makeup so those of you who wear a lot of eye-shadow, highlighter and/or contouring products may find that it doesn’t quite get everything off, and I'm also aware that other skin types require more than water and moisturiser to stay healthy and comfortable.  Even so, I would still recommend the Face Halo as a starting point for a really thorough initial clean which can then be topped up with your ordinary makeup remover or cleanser.

This product is really time and cost-effective and anything I can do to save valuable minutes and money is a worthwhile investment in my books, so I can say wholeheartedly that I am a convert.
